Are SilverSpring products natural?

The products themselves are all natural. Many are also made with organic oils. Those that are scented with fragrance oils are only 99% - 99.5% natural.

What is the difference between essential oils and base oils?

Both are 100% natural. Base oils are plant oils such as olive, or grapeseed or jojoba. They have very little odour and can be used directly on the skin in bath oils, massage oils etc. They lend softness to the skin and help hold in the natural moisture. Oils are the basic ingredient in natural (non commercial) soaps, creams and lotions.

Essential oils are the highly concentrated essences of the plant. They are generally distilled and could be from flowers, leaves, steams, fruits, roots, bark etc. Depending on their source, they may be oily or watery or syrupy, Essential oils have healing properties and when used in synergy by an accomplished aromatherapist, they can achieve wonderful results. More information on the individual oils is found on the essential oils page.
